Waters of Chisago County: Challenges, Changes, and Choices (Chisago Lakes)

Waters of Chisago County: Challenges, Changes, and Choices (Chisago Lakes) In-Person

Is our water safe to swim in, fish from, or drink? This presentation explores the health of Chisago County’s lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater—what it means for a waterbody to be “impaired,” local pollution trends, and how our waters are changing. Whether you’re a resident, landowner, or simply water-conscious, you’ll leave with a better understanding of the issues—and potential solutions—facing our local waters, along with actions you can take to help protect and improve water quality.

Barbara Heitkamp is the Water Resources Educator for the Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership—a collaboration of 15 local governments, including Chisago County and the Chisago Soil & Water Conservation District. Together, they’re working to protect, improve, and restore the rivers, lakes, and groundwater that make our communities thrive.

This program is recommended for adults. No registration necessary.
